My group's animation project

Message par gndagnor »

Hello bonjour everyone ^_^ Me n my group are doing an animation thingy to test our skills n have fun. Going to show the finished version at a local comic convention here. It's not much though, no story, just our characters animated in a video game opening kinda way n stuff...urhm yeah Catsuka rocks our socks :D

Here's my group's DA page : http://mars-and-uranus.deviantart.com/

These are mock-up screen shots to sucker in my group to make this project hehe : Image

Here's our animatic on Youtube : http://youtube.com/watch?v=U1a1CmIpUBA

This is REALLY short test animation fully finished : http://youtube.com/watch?v=oWnYqvStrqk [Yeah its pretty short but just to get an idea how the whole thing is gonna look like]

Malaysia's 2D industry is practically DEAD. So we hope we can make a big impression on the local and overseas people with this project. Hopefully make short films with actual stories and send em to animation festivals [OMG, excited!] XD

So uhm please tell us what you think of us newbies and ou:)

It looks good, but something aren't good for me, the melting of american and japanese desing must be good but you must choose beetween SF or Heroic Fantasy, mix both is not credible, there are too different, but if the animation is good, I can forget that.
Good Luck !

I didn't even know there was an animation industry in malaisya :kpfff: . is there many animation festivals there ?
are many animation series for old teenagers aired on malaysian TV ?
edit : I don't agree with ty-kun, if your animatic is a we-can-do-it clip, there is no problem mixing many styles as there is no need of narrative continuity (is my english that bad :kpleure: ?) (by the way, I think the mecha (the dog-gundamish one) is kinda cheap. I guess the final one will be better.)

As Ty-Kun said, mixing animation type can be the best or the worst...
I'm waiting to see the real thing to make up my mind...
Anyway, just keep it up okay ? :kclindoeil:

TY-KUN - I get you but we'll be stylizing the whole characters into one style so it wont look too weird O_O Yeah and we can't help but mix everything because these characters are all of our "alter egos" :) Cheers!

velo vert - Yeah, it's that bad haha although the 3D animation industry is going thru leaps and bounds with Saladin [ http://www.saladin.tv/main.php ]. No we dont get many animation festivals here ;_; And we usually get stuff from Japan/America aired on TV. And yes the final mecha design looks a lot better hehe :B

Nonosan - Will do! :D

koneko - Ahaaehaehae, me too!

Hi, your animatic is energetic and the screenshots are quite cool, nice to hear about malaysian animation, keep it up !

I'm also discovering Saladin, the trailer isn't bad.

I'm not really fond of the cross over Disney/Manga graphic style for the character design (To my opinion it lacks of originality) but i must admit that your layouts are really good! Handsome drawing, very professionnal. Good luck for your project!
