Hier, les fondateurs du studio anglais The Line revenaient dans un long message / manifeste sur leurs 11 ans d'existence, et leur volonté toujours intacte de développer des projets originaux, comme ils ont pu le faire par le passé à travers divers court métrages et pilotes (The Mighty Grand Piton, Heavenly Vessel, Super Turbo Atomic Ninja Rabbit, Amaro and Walden...), en parallèle de leurs productions de commande (qui composent la majorité de leur travail).

Et aujourd'hui, ils révèlent que leur projet "The Mighty Grand Piton", pour lequel ils avaient produit un pilote en 2019, réalisé par Wes Louis, est toujours d'actualité, et même désormais développé en long métrage d'animation.

Since we released one of our most popular shorts ever: "The Mighty Grand Piton", we always had ambition to take it further and we’re thrilled to announce that we are moving full steam ahead into making that happen.

The goal: an animated feature film directed by Wesley Louis @librabear.

We have a multi-step strategy in getting this film funded and we’re working with some great people who are helping us make this dream a reality! We’re still on the hunt for more partners to join us on this exciting journey so be sure to keep an eye out for updates.

Hey everyone!

11 years ago, we were just 6 guys renting a studio, freelancing, and making shorts in our spare time. We did this because we wanted- nah fuck that, needed-to tell stories and create the kind of animation we weren't seeing or getting the chance to make.

We took matters into our own hands. We learned a lot, had so much fun, and made cool stuff that people still reference today.

That's, in a half-shell, how THE LINE was born.

We set up THE LINE as a studio with the goal of sustainably making cool projects. We work hard on client projects and then play hard on our personal ones, all funded by the profits from the studio. Taking lessons from our shorts and applying them to commercial work (and vice versa) to make both types of work stronger.

It worked!

We've been able to fund our shorts and release projects we're incredibly proud of!

So to everyone who's worked with us and for us on these amazing commercial and personal projects, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You've helped us live out our dreams.

Many of you have been asking us to make long form content, basically from day dot.

Mate, if we had a quid for every comment asking us to make a film or show, we'd have our own cinematic universe by now haha ....maybe not quite.

The thing is, there's a huge gulf between the cost of making a short and funding a feature or series.

But fear not, what you want, and what we want, lines up. We'd absolutely love to make our own long form projects.

So, we're here to tell you, just like we did 11 years ago, we're taking matters into our own hands.

We ain't playing no more. We're making moves to get our projects made and out there.

We know it's a challenging time in the animation world, but to be honest, we created THE LINE in an era when everyone said 2D was dead. We're used to going against the grain and believing in our vision.

So stay tuned, because tomorrow we'll be sharing the first part of our master plan ;)
